Join us Saturday, Oct. 3, for ¡Ciencia para todos!, a free evening at the Science Center of Iowa celebrating Latino Heritage Month through science, culture and community.
From 5–8 p.m., SCI will come alive with cultural performances, bilingual science experiences and hands-on activities for the whole family.
Enjoy traditional Mexican dance from Folklor Mexicano Estilo y Movimiento, music from Cucho Madero and Los Carnales, bilingual Story Time under the stars and a bilingual Deep Freeze demonstration.
Throughout the evening, families can also explore robotics, discover the contributions of Latino scientists, create a colorful mariposa and help build a collaborative ¡Ciencia para todos! Community Mural celebrating our Latino community, creativity and the idea that science is for everyone.
And come hungry! Food will be available for purchase from Reyes Tamales, Los Compadres Flaming Tacos and Snackilandia.
Why ¡Ciencia para todos!? At SCI, we believe everyone should be able to explore science, ask questions and feel like they belong. ¡Ciencia para todos! is part of our ongoing work to listen and learn from our community and create a more welcoming and accessible Science Center for everyone.
