Description

This summer, the Des Moines Chamber of Commerce invites the community to flip the script on their typical Friday and celebrate Des Moines and wrap up the week at SENI-OM-SED—Des Moines, spelled backwards.

Hosted at the Des Moines Biergarten in Water Works Park, next to the Lauridsen Amphitheater, this weekly event series brings together professionals, families, and friends for an energized and easygoing kickoff to the weekend. SENI-OM-SED runs every Friday throughout the summer from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, offering the perfect opportunity to unwind, connect, and celebrate everything that makes Des Moines special. 

Starts at 4 PM with picnic table networking 

5 PM the Music Starts at the Biergarten 

More than just a gathering, SENI-OM-SED is a movement rooted in community, collaboration, and local pride. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, gather their coworkers, invite their friends, and include the whole family for an afternoon filled with connection, conversation, and summer vibes. 

Set against the scenic backdrop of Water Works Park, guests can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Biergarten while engaging with fellow community members, local leaders, and small business owners. Whether you’re looking to expand your network, spend quality time with loved ones, or simply soak in a summer afternoon, SENI-OM-SED delivers a welcoming environment for all.

When: Fridays, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM (throughout the summer) 

Where: Des Moines Biergarten at Water Works Park (next to Lauridsen Amphitheater) 

Who: Open to the public—bring your lawn chair, friends, coworkers, and family
